The weirdest thing happened today.
I called up a former teammate of mine who's currently in DB. He's this sort of soft-voiced guy who is polite.
I was in the noisy pantry at SJM when the call connected. I couldn't hear his voice too clearly but I started speaking in Telugu and asked if he was sleeping at work coz his voice sounded like that.
I had to repeat the question a couple of times before the voice on the other end said "Who is supposed to be sleeping? so, I said "You" and it says "Who am I?"
Now , I had to stop and wonder what that was.The voice was different from my friend's voice, but not something very unknown.Probably a roommate or something.
And then the voice said "Hello Mythili, this is Sandeep."
While we had a small laugh over that and a few minutes of conversation, I realised that it took a phone to someone else to get in touch with someone I know for longer.
Well, things work in mysterious ways.
And, it was nice speaking :)

Maduves , marriages, pellis , kalyanams and shadis
Been ages hasn't it?
Whew, guess the most happening news right now will be Ramu's wedding. Wishing him all the very very best for a wonderful future and marital bliss.
And of course wishing all the aunties and uncles happy anniversary , Anita, I think I am early for your anniversary, Arathi and Anju - Happy First anniversary to you guys - No No, I mean Arathi and Ashok & Anju and Gobi (chi chi what and all people think !! ) and proabably Poovi coming up this month (Has any one heard from her???)
I was counting, I think I have the list sort of right - 4 ladies from our NTP got married in 2007 and 4 ladies so far in 2008 , with Ramu's, it'll be
2007 - 4 and 2008 - 5 and 15 more to go !!!! Whew !
And of course, Marina's back from the US after a nice long stint .. Welcome back !
And Shriram coming back in a couple of days but right now twiddling his thumbs in front of a TV set.

Knock knock, anybody out there
Clears the cobwebs. Peers in carefully. Looks at the faded photographs. She shakes her head in wonder but sighs with relief because at least she's in the right place.So, why doesnt it feel like home anymore?
Arent these the same people who were inseperable 3 years ago? Ah well, the train does pass by a lot of stations, people get on and off at different stops. The bond of having started at the first departure is all that holds them together anymore if at all.
Memories always give more happiness when the memory cannot be recreated again.
Sigh.

Anita's get-to
Latest update ...
We had a BLAST at Anita's place.
Since I am writing this, it is gonna be my account :) so live through it.
Praveen had given me timings of 11 for entry and, in my defense, I had to drop my sister for a class, so I arrived sharp at 11 and boy was Anita "shocked" :D
Well, the watchman was sweet enough to ask me to park inside the basement to make sure my bike doesnt sadu-fy in the sun ;) nor did he ask me to sign in the register. And that was the case for Kuttu and Vinitha. Praveen on the other hand was forced to enter his Personal details and submit Birth certificate etc to be allowed in and still had to leave his bike under the sun. Harsha went through most of that, but Praveen took it rather badly uahhahahahahahahahaaaa .... rotfl .. .talk about discrimination ;)
oh and Anita was the perfect hostess, she had a glass of juice ready for each one of us as we dropped in, and finally when Harsha came in we knew , she would go to that fridge, take out the bottle , fill up the glass and like Magic come and drop it into the 'guest's hand' .
Oh of course, there was the 'get Good Life Slim Milk, 3 lts' scene in which Jumbo called up 4 times to make sure he got the name right and finally came with the non-slim version ;) but the payasam was AMAZING , so a few kgs more is acceptable :))
I saw Vinitha after 2 years I think, she looks the same and is the same .. no change .. the rest of us have gotten fat(we did check out in the weighing machine that Ani keeps :D , so there's your proof) all but Jumbo of course, now wait a min, we shouldnt call him Jumbo anymore, he weighs lesser than me :( and the largest weight gain is Harsha , from a skinny 55 to 72!!! and yet, if I stood in front of him, it would look a elephant in front of a lamppost sigh*

A little of photos, a forced viewing of Music and Lyrics later, chomping down on khara-fied groundnuts and banana chips and "Hide and Seek" and waiting for the crowd to arrive, we reached one of the high-lights of the day, Kuttu's wedding story ... the part that led up to it.
and of course how could i forget, the Merck PJ story was rekindled ;) Merck people, just wanna say that"We Rule, the rest of them are just jealous ;) 3 cheers to us!! "
And then, the surprise of the day, I got to cut a cake , a home made at one(thanks di) lalallalalalalalalalallaalaaaaa ....
Thank you guys , it was really special for me :)
Lunch was an absolute feast, Mari and Ani dint let us know who cooked what though.. All the stuff was great , I mean there were 3 fries, the bhindi was amazing guys, and the sambar and the salad and OMG ... Marriage really does turn Pretty Young things into aunties :-P
and we looked through Ani's wedding video too while Harsha kept searching for his long-lost aunty ;)
A part of me always feared that my 'attachment' to the NTP was only coz of the wonderful memories that we shared. I am so glad that fear proved false. My gang still is the best!

Drift to better ;)
Hi all,
Been a while all of sat together, had chai, spoke about all the wako things in life (Only i got to be a wako :( ). Was just thinking, our lives as fellow NTPians, Friends, Colleagues ( ;) ) is just like our planet. We were all together for a month, move 5 KM in the next month. Then came back together (Which i guess was the best time of my life in TIL-TCS , thanks to all of you my bad expr in TZA was turned into a good one) and then once again split.
I guess now we are all moving away (So much that each one of us are in different continents ;) ). But the spirit and the passion for each other is still as much as it was previously, which i say is really excellent. Excellent going!! I just wanted to put in a Adhoc post, not really to convey anything ;).
Waiting for the day when all of us will be together, each one of us having a kid ;). WOW, that would be so wonderful. Laugh at old times. It feels great to be part of 3 groups in my life. Each one of them has given me a reason to smile. Hey, there is something strange in the NTP thou. All the groups that i have been with had a pair where both the members were from the group, wondering if something similar would happen here ;). (I dont think so but, you never know ;) )
Anyway, cheers guys have fun (Yarns)

whats up, whats not
well, well, well... whats been happening, since I last dropped in here, there was a get-to at Anju's house which had a miserable turn-out of just Marina and me, but I must say we had fun .. watching all the wedding photos and stuff, reliving all the old days. talking of the days to come and of course Gobi was the perfect host .. and OMG , the food-spread was amazing, I had half a mind to eat everything that was on the table but dint really wanna scare ji-ja-jee u know ;)
Got me thinking , that I finally crossed over from the zone of meeting friends in college/at work to meeting them at eat-outs and finally to catching up with friends at their homes, with their spuse around !!! Mummmmmy ! I dont want to grow up ! I dont wanna be that old !
And then, Jumbo got back .. well Jumbo is really a wrong thing to call him, he half looks like he's the after picture of a VLCC ad! :))
Somethings never change and neither did he, I feel so proud of him, like an older sister u know :D and the small baby was talking about getting married ! yappppppppppa!
and of course, the 'gathering' had a humongous strength of all of 4 people !!! he he hehe he he he he
for a movie where people were spouting more Urdu than Hindi and the audience comments made the serious scenes into a comedy !
Its a trickle of almost nothing compared to the 23+ people who used to always turn up no matter how small the occassion.. well, we cant have them all anyways..
Other than that, what updates..

Sanjith prefers IonIdea to TCS and likes Apple more than Merck.
Poovi got married(sourced via : Prav via Anju via Abhi via Rajini)
Akka's next in waiting list(which reminds me, dont we have to book the tickets!)
Swap's teaching clients stuff in lecture halls and travelling all over Mexico and outer space ;)
